This week’s Good News from the Resistance: What says Happy 4th of July better than a president who gears up for the holiday by publicly displaying his demented mind to all of the world by broadcasting misogynistic tweets that would land most 8 year olds in the principal’s office? It’s business as usual in 45’s Kingdom. Forget the distraction. Let’s celebrate the Good News: Resisters, GOP Congresspeople with a conscience, and state governors managed to delay the Senate’s healthcare bill a bit longer. And there’s more …

WE THAT WE DELAYED THE SENATE’S TRUMPNOCARE VOTE. AND YET …
Repealing Obamacare was a top priority for the GOP. We’ve delayed its replacement for months. The Senate’s latest delay was a big win for the Resistance. But the battle isn’t over yet. We’re on a roll …. here’s how to keep up the pressure.
WEFOX NEWS IGNORING TRUMPNOCARE
Six mere months ago, Fox was spewing lie after lie about Obamacare. Now? Not so much. Many conservative grass-roots groups are ignoring TrumpNoCare, and some are lobbying against the bill. With the GOP fractured on the issue, Fox is in a bind.
WE GOP GOVERNORS IN A PICKLE OVER TRUMPNOCARE
45 and his GOP Congress have managed to do what Obama couldn’t: Explain to the American people key provisions of Obamacare. Now that we know what we have, we don’t want to lose it. As Congress continues to debate the highly unpopular TrumpNoCare bills, Republican gubernatorial candidates are in the unenviable position of having to defend them. Some won’t.

WEICE DECIDING TO FREE 9/11 WORKER THEY TRIED TO DEPORT
Construction worker Carlos Cardona developed a respiratory illness from working at the World Trade Center site in the weeks after the 9/11 attack. Nevertheless, last February, shortly after 45 took office and vowed to crack down on immigration, ICE picked up Cardona over a 30-year old conviction. After spending more than four months in a detention center, Gov. Cuomo gave him a pardon.
WE STATES REFUSING TO TURN OVER VOTER DATA TO 45
45 has created a commission for “voter integrity.” Last week the commission sent a letter to 50 states asking for their voter rolls. So far, governors from Virginia, California, and Kentucky have refused to comply. “At best this commission was set up as a pretext to validate Donald Trump’s alternative election facts, and at worst is a tool to commit large-scale voter suppression,” said Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe.
WE HAWAII FOR FILING FIRST COURT CHALLENGE TO “NEW” TRAVEL BAN
The latest version of 45’s travel ban stipulates that travelers from Muslim-majority countries can only come into the U.S. to visit spouses, parents, children, siblings or sons- and daughters-in-law. Hawaii has filed suit, arguing that 45’s administration cannot enforce a temporary ban against certain relatives.
WE SOUTHERN POVERTY LAW CENTER FOR WINNING ALABAMA PRISON CASE
Three years ago, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) sued Alabama over the “horrendously inadequate” prison mental health system, which SPLC argued had led to a skyrocketing prisoner suicide rate. Last week, a judge agreed, and ordered a complete overhaul of the system.
